With just a few hours left to go before the weekend, the pack has welcomed over a hundred new members and we've officially crossed the $30,000 mark - meaning you've unlocked our first Stretch Goal! The three-pin set will now be available to backers as an add-on!! Check out the incredible pin set designs by Dailen Ogden below!

NEXT UP: STRETCH GOAL #2 - MORE STORY!

That's right! At $35,000, we'll be unlocking eight new pages of story for WIFWULF! That will include...

• A four-page comic written AND drawn by Dailen Ogden exploring the origins of Silver Slash, the mysterious wolf who becomes Charity's link to the spirit of the forest...
• ... and a four-page prose epilogue by the Lanzing/Kelly Hivemind exploring an encounter with the Wifwulf at the height of her power.

These stories will expand the world of WIFWULF and deepen your understanding of the core story, while offering us creators a chance to do the thing we love the most: create! We're enormously excited by the prospect of adding additional material to WIFWULF and hope that you'll help us recruit new members of the pack and/or increase your pledge amount so we can bring these new stories your way.

To help get us to $35,000, we've added a couple new tiers to the WIFWULF Kickstarter - and we're psyched to tell you about them.

NEW TIERS FROM THE HIVEMIND!

Collin and Jackson are known for their collaboration and hustle, with over one hundred printed comics to their name in the last 8 years. But they have never before opened up their docket to personalized commissions or taught a workshop... until now. We're so excited to bring you two high-level tiers that will reward you with extremely rare personalized fiction and the opportunity to get direct and detailed feedback from the Hivemind. Check out those new tiers below!

VOICE OF THE WOLF ($500) rewards your support with a custom short story about an animal in your life. Ever wonder what goes on in your pet's life when you're not looking? Or want to memorialize an important moment in your history with an animal you love? This tier will put the Hivemind to work creating a piece of fiction just for you, which will be lovingly printed and included in your rewards.

GATHER THE PACK ($1000) rewards your support with a personal workshop with the Hivemind, during which they'll read your work, walk you through their process, and help you launch your story. Looking to build your own comic? Curious how to collaborate with a partner? Want to pick Jackson and Collin's brain about all things story for two whole days? Then this is the tier for you. We know the price is high - but we will drop everything we're doing for two days to help the backers at this level achieve their story dreams.

HOWL AT SOME GREAT COMICS!

One of the greatest things about Kickstarting WIFWULF has been meeting all the other amazing Kickstarter creators who are helping make their projects come to life. Below you'll find three comics from friends we hope you'll consider supporting!

SLICE OF LIFE is a queer romance from Kat Calamia and the team behind Bi Visibility that deconstructs the "slice of life" genre, unpacking the importance of everyday narratives to tell a larger story about the meaning of life from the point of view of a fictional character. It follows a gritty anime protagonist, Lady Vengeance, who is brought to the real world by a super fan - where she'll learn there's more to life than darkness and revenge...and she'll find love with the super fan's twin sister - a kind-hearted cheerleader. Honestly, the book seems deeply delightful, we've backed it, and we hope you'll check it out too. 

CHAOTIC NEUTRAL is a wild-looking RPG-themed comics/adventure module inspired by the old school fantasy roleplaying games that scared a nation. It's being put together by our old friend writer Mark Sable and artist Chris Anderson - as well as our BATMAN BEYOND collaborator Max Dunbar - and it's about as wild and edgy a take on DUNGEONS & DRAGONS as we can imagine.  We've known Mark for many years and he's always been an outside-the-box thinker with a wild imagination - we can't wait to see what he makes of the old school RPG universe. As they put it: CHAOTIC NEUTRAL brings danger and drama back to high adventure fantasy storytelling. Come for the satanic cults, stay for the violence, nudity, and cursing.

PSYCHO GOREMAN is a 65 page Sci-Fi Anthology comic in slick high-quality magazine format, based on the fantastic film from the mind of Steven Kostanski and featuring a killer line-up of top creative talent. It's got big Heavy Metal vibes but also a really out-there artistic sensibility - and sounds like exactly the kind of psychedelic cosmic weirdness we love to support. Check it out!

VAULT COMICS x WIFWULF!

HUGE NEWS: VAULT COMICS IS JOINING THE PACK!

We're so excited to announce that after the enormous success of WIFWULF's first few weeks of funding, we're partnering with Vault to help us distribute the comic to comic shops and bookstores in 2022! Vault has long been a champion of unique and high quality books - including ZOJAQAN and DARK ONE, both written by WIFWULF writers Collin & Jackson - and we truly could not be more thrilled to welcome them to the pack. 

I'm sure you all have questions - this is a big shift in the WIFWULF landscape - and we've got some answers below!

How will this affect your pledge?

Most importantly: Vault is giving us access to their printers and distribution, so we’ll be able to offer you a smoother shipping experience, and save some money on production. Many of our rewards are KS exclusive, (including the gold foil cover with campaign-specific signed bookplates) so they won’t be available to the direct market. We’re committed to creating a unique experience for our pack -- and Vault knows how dedicated we are to fulfilling your pledges first and respecting our bond. So the truth is that this will only effect your pledge by making the pack larger, making the product easier to manufacture, and lightening the load on the creative team when it comes to making sure you get your copy of WIFWULF and all your add-ons as soon as possible.

How will this affect the campaign?

Let's get the big question out of the way: the series is still creator-owned - so your pledge and investment is still going directly to the creators to help us pay for the production and creative efforts that are making WIFWULF happen. Nothing about that is changing. On the back end, it’ll make production run smoother. Many of our rewards are KS exclusive - so we're still trying to grow our KS pack as large as possible, to provide the best possible version of the book to you, our backers. We're hopeful that the addition of Vault to the pack brings new eyes to WIFWULF and helps us tell the story to as many people as could want to read it.

What does this mean for us?

We're deeply thankful to Vault for joining our pack - and after wonderful experiences on ZOJAQAN and DARK ONE, the Hivemind is so happy to rejoin theirs. They're the only publisher in the market that we'd all  even consider working with on a project as personal and strange as WIFWULF - especially after our incredible first few weeks of funding released us from any real need to do so! 

We don't need to sing their praises, but having them join our pack is just another mark of Vault's quality: even with the success they've found, they still have the passion to support strange, emotional stories that might not find a home otherwise. The goal of the crowdfunding WIFWULF has always been to deliver this story in the most beautiful form it can possibly be - having Vault on board ensures that the dream of this amazing book can be 100% actualized.

Plus, as this campaign grows, their structure and expertise is exactly what we need to execute it in the smoothest way possible! We want everyone feeling excited and satisfied with the book in their hands at the end of the day, and we're confident that their involvement will mean just that. It opens a thousand doors for WIFWULF that were previously shut, and we're immensely excited to explore them with all of you.

While we slept, the world changed! 

Or at least, the length of our book did! 

That's right:  just two days after we announced our partnership with Vault Comics, you all rallied to get funding beyond $35,000 - meaning we can now create two new stories set in the world of WIFWULF. These include a comics story written and drawn by Dailen Ogden, plus a prose story by Collin and Jackson. We're so excited to expand the legend of the WIFWULF!

BOOKPLATE: REVEALED!

We're also very excited to reveal the design of the Kickstarter-exclusive bookplate - available only through this campaign! If you got a bookplate, you'll be seeing this beauty in your hands soon. Art, as always, by Dailen!

NEW STRETCH GOALS!

Since the pack has taken us over the line for our first two stretch goals, we're excited to reveal the next two!

At $40,000, we'll be raising our rates for the creative team, assuring that Dailen, Jackson, and Collin all receive a small bump in their take-home pay from WIFWULF. This entire project was created on spec, so we're grateful to be able to offer ourselves some payment and so thankful for your support.

At $45,000, we'll be unlocking a GUEST ART GALLERY - expanding the page count of WIFWULF even further while inviting new artists to come play in our folklore with us. This is a really exciting goal for us - one the whole team's hoped for since the start of this project - and you can help make it real by expanding the pack and helping us get to $45,000. And you can further contribute by telling us who you'd like to see join the guest art gallery! Let us know in the comments or on social media!

It's week two of the WIFWULF campaign and we continue to be blown away by your generous and enthusiastic support. With 705 backers joining the pack for a grand total of over $27,000 raised, we are well and truly beyond our expectations. We'd never imagined we'd fund so quickly - so we've spent the last weekend rounding up the pack and howling back and forth about what kind of amazing things we could add to WIFWULF to reward your continued support.
